Boston\u2019s Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital (BWH) is an international leader in many areas of medicine and is a teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School. BWH has a well-developed lung transplant program and with the investment in the Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) technology and the XPS\u2122 BWH will get the opportunity to increase the lung transplant program and support more patients. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

XPS\u2122 is the only CE-marked and FDA approved (Humanitarian Device Exemptions approval) integrated system on the market today which gives the user the flexibility to perform evaluation of lungs before transplantation through a standardized and simplified procedure. Use of XPS\u2122 has shown good clinical results at 18 clinics in the US, many of which are national leaders in their field. Six XPS\u2122 contracts have now been signed by European clinics, giving them access to the XPS\u2122 system for lung transplantation, and the company notes continuing high interest for the XPS\u2122 in the US and in Europe. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted and proud that EVLP with XPS\u2122 and STEEN Solution\u2122 will be used for evaluating lungs for transplantation at the very well reputed Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital in Boston. This is one of only two hospitals performing lung transplantation in all of the states in the North-East (New England) of the USA.
